We are seeking an experienced and motivated Manager to lead the team at our clients highly rated Quick Serve Takeaway in the Waterside area in Derry. They offer a wide range of takeaway items including: Pizza, burgers, crispy fish and chips and more.
The successful candidate will be responsible for the day-to-day operations of our clients fast-paced kitchen, ensuring excellent customer service, food safety, and efficient staff management.
Key Responsibilities:
- Kitchen Operations:
- Oversee the kitchen, ensuring smooth operations during busy periods.
- Ensure all food preparation and cooking meet high-quality standards.
- Manage and maintain kitchen cleanliness in compliance with food safety regulations.
- Food Safety & Health Compliance:
- Ensure all food safety and hygiene practices meet council health standards.
- Conduct regular health and safety checks, maintaining records for compliance.
- Team Management:
- Lead, motivate, and manage a team of kitchen and service staff.
- Handle staff scheduling to ensure adequate coverage during peak hours.
- Provide training and guidance to new and existing staff members.
- Customer Service:
- Maintain excellent customer service standards, addressing customer feedback professionally.
- Act as a point of contact for customer queries and complaints, ensuring prompt resolution.
- Stock & Ordering:
- Monitor inventory levels and place orders to maintain sufficient stock.
- Manage supplier relationships to ensure cost-effectiveness and quality.
- Other Duties:
- Assist with cooking and food preparation during busy shifts as required.
- Monitor and control costs to maximize profitability.
- Cash Handling
Essential Skills & Experience:
- Proven experience as a Manager or Assistant Manager running a kitchen in a quick-serve restaurant or takeaway environment.
- Strong understanding of food safety and hygiene regulations.
- Previous experience managing a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to multitask effectively.
- Strong customer service skills with a focus on delivering a positive experience.
- Experience in stock management, ordering, and supplier negotiation.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
Desirable Qualifications:
- Haccap – Food safety certification or equivalent training.
- Previous experience in liaising with health authorities
Employment Details:
- Days of Work: 5 days per week (flexibility required).
- Hours: To be discussed (shifts may include evenings and weekends).
- Salary: £25-28k based on experience.
